The layout for this 100 unit service apartment with back to back apartments and mandatory staircases was pre-dictated and our energies were focused more on creating an interesting expression through careful articulation of the balconies and services that envelope the building on all floors.
Every unit required one balcony, a utility space and a duct for services along this peripheral envelope. While the core structure repeats itself on all floors these balconies, shafts and services take unique angles for each apartment giving rise to a non-linear expression.
